About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team and support the day-to-day financial operations of the business.

This role plays an important part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data across our systems while supporting the finance team with reporting, reconciliations, treasury processes, and operational accounting tasks.

Working closely with internal teams across finance, ecommerce, and operations, you will assist with balance sheet reconciliations, payment gateway monitoring, inventory financial integrity, and maintaining data accuracy between systems including Xero, Shopify, and Cin7.

This role is ideal for someone looking to build their accounting career within a global technology and ecommerce business, while gaining exposure to integrated financial systems and multi-entity operations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting

• Support monthly balance sheet reconciliations within Xero

• Assist with month-end close and reporting processes

• Support preparation of management reports and financial analysis

Ecommerce & Payment Reconciliation

• Review payment gateway activity (Shopify Payments, PayPal etc.)

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between ecommerce platforms and accounting systems

• Monitor ecommerce fees, refunds, and adjustments

• Maintain key clearing accounts (payment gateways, ecommerce receipts, inventory clearing etc.)

Inventory & Cost of Sales

• Assist with maintaining the financial integrity of Cin7 inventory records

Systems & Data Integrity

• Maintain data integrity between Cin7, Shopify, and Xero

• Assist with troubleshooting integration issues between systems

General Finance Support

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

• Support BAS preparation and compliance reporting

• Assist with audit preparation and documentation

• Provide assistance with accounting and payments across smaller group entities

• Maintain and review drawings accounts

• Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes

Treasury

• Maintain treasury payment processes across multiple entities and platforms

• Maintain bank reconciliations in Xero, ensuring receipts and supporting documentation are uploaded

• Review AMEX spend limits to ensure available credit targets are maintained

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or Finance Officer role

• Experience using Xero or similar accounting systems

• Strong attention to detail and reconciliation skills

• Experience working with ecommerce platforms or payment gateways is advantageous

• Exposure to inventory systems such as Cin7 is beneficial

• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
