We are seeking a highly organised, hands on and detail-driven Accountant to join the Finance Team on a full-time basis located at our head office in Yatala, QLD. Our office hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday with limited overtime for those seeking a more work life balance.

Reporting to the Financial Controller and working alongside our Finance Team the Accountant is responsible for taking ownership of the role and confidently managing the day-to-day financial operations for multiple entities with separate ledgers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconciliation of bank accounts and resolving discrepancies

  • Maintaining and monitoring the general ledger and financial records

  • Monthly reconciling of Balance Sheets and preparation of supporting workpapers

  • Preparation of monthly departmental reports and other adhoc reports as required

  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly GST returns

  • Assisting with manufacturing variance reporting, monitoring production-related costs and supporting stock control processes

  • Fixed Asset acquisitions, disposals and maintenance of register

  • Work in progress calculations for pool mould assets and recognition of the final product to the fixed asset register

  • Payroll backup including processing and related administration

  • Overseeing and backup for the end-to-end Accounts Payable processes including matching supplier invoices to goods receipts and purchase orders, statement reconciling and payments preparation

  • Assisting with compilation of end of year financial statement and income tax return packages and liaising with external tax agents and auditors to meet due dates

  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies

  • Collaborate with internal teams to maintain seamless financial operations

About You:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing environment

  • A degree qualification in Accounting with CPA qualifications

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Advanced skills in Excel and Outlook

  • Experience working with Microsoft Business Central or similar ERP systems

  • Exceptional attention to detail, keenness for meeting deadlines and professionally manage priorities

  • Strong, professional interpersonal skills, reliable, can-do attitude and superior communication skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team

  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and takes ownership of outcomes

  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for this position
