For several years, our boutique tax practice in Highland Park has delivered high-quality taxation and advisory services to clients across Australia. Our services extend beyond individual tax returns to include business taxation, superannuation, structuring, tax planning, business advisory and ongoing compliance support.
With a rapidly expanding client base and a diverse portfolio of entities, we are seeking an Accountant with experience to join our team.
About the RoleThis is a hands-on role suited to an accountant with 2+ years’ experience in public practice who is confident managing compliance work across multiple entity types.
You will work closely with senior accountants and the principal, while also taking ownership of your own client portfolio.
Key ResponsibilitiesPreparation and review of income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs
Preparation and lodgement of BAS and IAS
Preparation of financial statements and supporting workpapers
Managing client bookkeeping reviews from Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks
Maintaining and reconciling asset registers and depreciation schedules
Liaising with the ATO and other regulatory bodies
Responding to client queries in a timely and professional manner
Assisting with tax planning and advisory engagements
Reviewing payroll, superannuation and compliance obligations
Ensuring client deadlines are met in accordance with lodgment programs
You are a motivated and capable accountant who thrives in a fast-paced public practice environment. You can manage competing deadlines, communicate clearly with clients, and take responsibility for your work.
You will ideally have:
2+ years’ experience in public practice
Experience preparing tax returns and BAS across multiple entity types
Strong knowledge of Australian taxation legislation
Experience using Xero, MYOB and/or QuickBooks
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Completed Accounting Diploma or Degree
Australian residency
Must have own vehicle
