About Australian Property Scout (APS)

At Australian Property Scout, we aren’t just another property agency; we are life-changers. We specialise in sourcing high-performance investment properties, guiding our clients with a blend of data-driven expertise and genuine empathy. We are a high-growth, high-performance team dedicated to excellence.

The Role: Quality Control & Governance

We are looking for a Building and Pest Support specialist to join our Compliance Unit. This is a 100% remote, desk-based technical auditing role. You won't be out in the field doing inspections. Instead, you are the Gatekeeper of Quality. Your mission is to review third-party reports, identify risks such as structural issues, water damage, high maintenance etc., and provide objective, technical feedback.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Auditing: Conduct desktop audits of Building & Pest reports, identifying structural risks, moisture ingress, and major defects.

  • Risk Reporting & Advisory: Translate complex construction jargon into clear, commercial language for our Buying Team and clients.

  • Cost Estimation: Define the specific scope of works required to obtain accurate third-party quotes for defect rectification.

  • Technical Advisory: Translate complex construction jargon into clear, commercial language for Buyer’s Agents and clients.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Provide factual, objective evidence to support price negotiations while maintaining professional, non-abrasive communication.

  • Workflow Management: Handle a high volume of deal files with rapid turnaround times, maintaining a zero-error rate on critical checks.

Who You Are
  • Low Ego, High Impact: You are a technical expert without an abrasive attitude. You are professional, approachable, and non-confrontational.

  • Highly Coachable: You have a growth mindset. You are adaptable, tech-savvy, and eager to learn the "APS way" of property analysis.

  • Receptive & Resilient Team Player: You thrive in a high-performance culture where feedback is direct and standards are elite. You handle professional pushback with ease, viewing it as a collaborative tool to ensure we deliver the best possible outcome for our clients.

  • The "Sharp Eye": You see the red flags in photos and reports that others miss. You are detail-oriented and obsessed with accuracy.

  • Passion: You genuinely enjoy helping people learn more about their properties. You take pride in empowering others through your knowledge.

Skills & Experience
  • Technical Foundation: Experience in Residential Building or Construction. You must know what a structural defect looks like on paper and in photos.

  • Preferred: Pest Inspection experience/licensing is a plus, but not mandatory if your building knowledge and coachability are elite.

  • Audit Mindset: Ability to interpret reports quickly and make recommendations based on strict criteria.

  • Exceptional Communication: You are great with people and can turn complex technical jargon into easy-to-digest insights for clients, ensuring they feel informed and confident.

  • Tech Literacy: Comfortable using CRMs and remote communication tools (Google, Zoom, etc.) in a 100% digital environment.

Why Join APS?
  • 100% Remote: Work from anywhere in Australia with total autonomy.

  • Personal Growth: We prioritise your personal portfolio growth and professional development.

  • High-Performance Culture: Work with a team that celebrates milestones and moves fast.

  • Impact: Your technical expertise directly protects the financial futures of our clients.
