WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

This part is always missing in job ad's isn't it? Let us tell you why this role might be the perfect fit for you.

We know its difficult to find great people to join the team so we want to make it really clear what we're offering (because we will also be making it really clear what we're asking for throughout this ad)

We also know that it's equally difficult for good candidates to find a job they love; to work in a team where you are genuinely valued, where there's no office politics and you get a chance to put your strengths to work each day, which is why our culture is a big part of what makes this role an attractive one.

You'll be part of a high-performing fast-paced team where every employee feels like they're part of a family more than that they're just ‘at work’.

You'll be a part of a team looking to change the lives of small business owners.

This role will offer you a chance to work closely with our clients, build relationships and help the team meet budgets, which ultimately means bonuses for yourself.

This is a full-time role and you'll be based at our beach-side location in Mermaid Beach with free parking, open plan two-story office, ping pong table, and did we mention the barista-style coffee machine? Just to be clear this isn't everything but just a few things that usually stand out to candidates.

We have regular team social events so if you usually head out for lunch there are plenty of other opportunities to get to know the team.

Your salary will be competitive and commensurate with the value you're bringing to the role.

Training will be provided one on one along with an extensive library of processes and videos.

ABOUT US

Pictures say 1000 words but videos say more.

Check out our Instagram @newwaveaccountants to get a feel for the culture!

We have also uploaded a video below so you can hear it directly from our staff.

At New Wave we're dedicated to helping small businesses grow and understand their figures. We are also dedicated to changing the lives of our employees.

There is no hierarchy at New Wave, we all chip in when needed, in fact we have even seen the director making coffees for clients when our Reception is under the pump!

ABOUT YOU

You're the kind of person who likes to double-check the spelling and language of all your emails so that clients can understand what you're saying on their level.

You possess the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced job and hey you even thrive in this kind of environment.

You understand the meaning of teamwork and are generally the first to put up your hand to help others.

Some would say that you love structure and following clear processes to a tee but you come up with ways to improve those processes. You aren't afraid to ask questions but you try to see if you can figure it out for yourself first.

You are comfortable with technology and various tools like or similar to Zoom, Xero, Gmail, and Now Infinity.

Ideally, you'll be looking for a long-term position where you can progress without having to leave the company to get a promotion.

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:
– At least one year of full-time experience as an Office Manager (or similar role)
– A diploma or higher qualification in business administration or a related field
– If you don’t hold a formal qualification, at least three years of relevant experience in a comparable role
– Strong skills in administration, team coordination, recordkeeping, and office systems (e.g. Xero, Now Infinity, or similar)
– Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a full-time, permanent position for an experienced Office Manager who will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day running of the office and supporting senior leadership in ensuring operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:
– Contributing to the planning and review of office systems and services, including setting and monitoring office service standards
– Allocating and overseeing the use of office resources, including personnel, equipment and space
– Supervising and monitoring the performance of administrative staff and support functions
– Managing the office’s internal records, procedures, and financial accounts
– Liaising with professionals, clients and service providers to facilitate the resolution of operational and administrative matters
– Ensuring equipment and supplies are procured and maintained to support business needs
– Coordinating personnel-related functions including recruitment, training, payroll, and performance reviews
– Overseeing office compliance with workplace health and safety obligations and applicable policies and procedures

HOW TO APPLY

Please apply via Seek. Ensure to include a cover letter introducing yourself, who you are, and what you like doing outside of work, explaining to us why you are the perfect candidate for this role and what you have done at a previous job to make changes in that organisation (perhaps if you weren't given the opportunity to make those changes let us know what would you have done).
