What will you do? 

Duties and responsibilities of a Disability Support Worker are unique and varied because those we support have unique needs. You could be working in people's homes and/or in the community.

Community Access involves supporting participants to engage in activities outside their home, helping them build independence, social connections, and life skills.

In this role, you will:

• Accompany participants to community activities such as social outings, appointments, shopping, education, or recreational programs

• Support participants to develop confidence and independence in everyday tasks

• Encourage social interaction and inclusion within the community

• Assist with transport and ensure participants’ safety and wellbeing during outings

Domestic assistance involves supporting participants to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment while promoting independence and daily living skills.

In this role you will:

• Assist with general household tasks such as cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and laundry

• Support meal preparation and basic food safety practices

• Help with grocery shopping and household organisation

• Encourage participants to develop and maintain independent living skills

• Follow individual support plans and respect each participant’s routines, preferences, and cultural background

• Maintain a safe and hygienic living environment

Essentials:

• Experience working with participants in disability care.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

• Compassionate, patient, and committed to providing high-quality care.

• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate

• National Police Check (Essential)

• Valid Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Essential)

• Valid Australian work rights (Essential)

• Open Driver's License, reliable car & insurance
