What will you do?
Duties and responsibilities of a Disability Support Worker are unique and varied because those we support have unique needs. You could be working in people's homes and/or in the community.
Community Access involves supporting participants to engage in activities outside their home, helping them build independence, social connections, and life skills.
In this role, you will:
Accompany participants to community activities such as social outings, appointments, shopping, education, or recreational programs
Support participants to develop confidence and independence in everyday tasks
Encourage social interaction and inclusion within the community
Assist with transport and ensure participants’ safety and wellbeing during outings
Domestic assistance involves supporting participants to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment while promoting independence and daily living skills.
In this role you will:
Assist with general household tasks such as cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and laundry
Support meal preparation and basic food safety practices
Help with grocery shopping and household organisation
Encourage participants to develop and maintain independent living skills
Follow individual support plans and respect each participant’s routines, preferences, and cultural background
Maintain a safe and hygienic living environment
Essentials:
Experience working with participants in disability care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Compassionate, patient, and committed to providing high-quality care.
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
National Police Check (Essential)
Valid Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Essential)
Valid Australian work rights (Essential)
Open Driver's License, reliable car & insurance
