About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Sport Development Officer to coordinate and deliver futsal development programs within our growing organisation.

This role is responsible for promoting participation in futsal through structured development programs, competitions, community engagement initiatives, and participant pathways. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting athlete development while contributing to the growth and delivery of community sport programs.

The position involves a combination of sport development coordination, coaching delivery, stakeholder engagement, event coordination, and operational support.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning, designing and implementing futsal development programs for participants across multiple age groups and skill levels.

  • Promoting increased participation in futsal through structured training pathways, community-based sport initiatives, and inclusive participation opportunities.

  • Identifying participation barriers and supporting accessible sporting opportunities for diverse participant groups.

  • Coordinating the delivery of sport development programs, including training schedules, holiday camps, skill development clinics, and participation initiatives.

  • Developing structured seasonal program plans to support participant engagement, progression, and long-term sport development outcomes.

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with sporting organisations, venues, schools, and community stakeholders to support program delivery and participation pathways.

  • Acting as the lead coach responsible for session delivery, participant supervision, and communication with parents and guardians.

  • Developing and implementing training methodologies focused on improving technical skills, tactical awareness, and overall game performance.

  • Providing feedback, guidance, and ongoing support to participants to encourage skill progression and engagement in sport.

  • Coordinating participation in competitions, tournaments, and sporting events, including registrations, scheduling, logistics, and venue arrangements.

  • Liaising with organisers, venues, and sporting stakeholders regarding competitions, sporting events, and operational requirements.

  • Supporting the organisation and delivery of futsal holiday camps, development clinics, and community participation events.

  • Maintaining program documentation, attendance records, participation tracking data, and basic reporting requirements.

  • Assisting with operational and financial administration related to program delivery, including participant fees, venue payments, competition costs, and scheduling activities.

  • Monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness through participant feedback, attendance trends, and performance progression tracking.

  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of sport development initiatives, coaching frameworks, and participant engagement strategies.

  • Preparing basic reports on participation trends, program outcomes, and development activities.

  • Ensuring compliance with organisational policies, child safety requirements, sporting regulations, and workplace health and safety standards.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Diploma or Higher qualification in Sport Development, Sports Coaching, Physical Education, Recreation, or related field.

  • At least 1 year of relevant full-time work experience

  • Experience coordinating or delivering sport development or coaching programs.

  • Experience coaching futsal, football, or similar team sports across multiple age groups.

  • Ability to coordinate sporting activities, competitions, and participant programs.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with participants, parents, schools, venues, and sporting organisations.

  • Knowledge of sporting safety standards and participant welfare requirements.

 

Licence/Certification:

  • First Aid Certification (Required)

  • Blue Card (Required)
