Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Design Lead to join our friendly and supportive Design & Estimating team based at our Luscombe Head Office.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a building design professional who enjoys variety, autonomy and being involved in every stage of a project. You'll work across a diverse portfolio of modular construction projects, from concept and tender through to detailed documentation, manufacturing and delivery.
No two days are the same. One project might be a standard education or office building, while the next could be a complex medical facility, switch room or specialised infrastructure project.

What You'll Be Doing
As Design Lead, you will be responsible for leading the design and technical delivery of projects, ensuring designs are practical, coordinated, buildable and aligned to scope, programme and quality expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the design and documentation of projects from concept through to fabrication
Managing design deliverables to ensure alignment with project scope, programme and delivery requirements
Developing coordinated, practical and buildable design solutions
Working closely with estimators to align design intent with project costing
Defining and maintaining clear design scopes, including inclusions, exclusions and assumptions, to keep design, estimating and delivery aligned
Coordinating with internal stakeholders across Estimating, Manufacturing, Major Projects, Workforce Housing and Space Rentals
Liaising with external consultants including hydraulic and electrical engineers
Resolving technical design and detailing challenges
Supporting project teams through clear communication and documentation
Ensuring designs comply with relevant codes, standards and legislative requirements
Maintaining high levels of design quality, accuracy and attention to detail
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running and take ownership of projects from day one.
To be successful, you will have:
Strong AutoCAD and/or Revit experience
Experience in building design, detailing and design coordination
Strong understanding of construction methods and building systems
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
Strong time management skills and ability to meet project deadlines
A proactive and self-motivated approach
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
Experience interpreting plans, specifications and technical documentation
Exposure to estimating processes and the relationship between design and project costing
Ability to apply technical judgement to guide design decisions and resolve complex challenges
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Certificate IV in Building Design, or equivalent industry experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a QBCC Building Designer Licence, NSW Building Design Practitioner Registration, or equivalent
Experience in Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), modular construction or similar delivery environments highly regarded
Experience across commercial, industrial, modular or residential building projects
