About the role 

Casual positions available, based at our respite centre in Mudgeeraba, QLD. Days of work are between Monday and Friday. Hours per week will vary depending on demand. 

Reporting directly to the Team Leader Client Services you will be responsible for: 

  • Facilitating recreational activities for people living with dementia and providing opportunities for involvement to maintain their skills and abilities and promote personal choice 
  • Assisting in the development of individual support plans where appropriate and maintaining an up to date understanding of the person's wellbeing needs 
  • Ensuring that client activity and other appropriate information is documented in line with professional and legal standards 
  • Transporting and supporting individuals or groups of clients to and from their home, community activities, appointments, and centre-based programs

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following: 

  1. Certificate III (or higher) in Individual Support, Aged Care or similar discipline.  
  2. Experience in a similar role within a community or respite service. 
  3. Experience planning and facilitating age-appropriate activities based on the interest of participants. 
  4. Demonstrated experience and understanding of the impacts of dementia for individuals, carers, and their support networks. 
  5. Communicates clearly and openly with different audiences. 
  6. Provides service excellence by delivering client focused services. 
  7. Valid full driver's licence required.
