About the team

The Transport Maintenance Services section plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the city's infrastructure, ensuring safe, functional, and sustainable public assets. Our team provides comprehensive maintenance services for meter maintenance, roads, traffic lines and signs, stormwater drainage systems, bridges, beaches, footpaths and waterways.

About the role 

The Meter Maintenance Officer is responsible for delivering a proactive and responsive metered parking service. Responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of Council’s pay by plate parking meters, contributing significantly to the delivery of a safe, compliant, and well‑regulated parking environment.

We’re looking for people who have: 

• C Class Drivers Licence (Mandatory)
• A thorough knowledge and understanding of the operations of a City Parking Section and relevant Council Local Laws, Legislation, Policies and guidelines as related to regulated parking and other areas as required
• Knowledge and understanding of the MUTCD Part 3
• Ability to undertake physically demanding tasks and use various plant and equipment
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
