About the Role
We are seeking a trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter with strong mechanical and fabrication skills to join our manufacturing maintenance team. This role offers long-term stability, diverse maintenance work and opportunities for future career development.
Reporting directly to the Plant Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
• Performing preventative maintenance, inspections and servicing of manufacturing equipment to maximise plant reliability
• Preventative and general maintenance of manufacturing machinery and equipment
• Diagnosing mechanical faults, breakdowns and equipment failures and carrying out repairs to minimise production downtime
• Performing fabrication, installation and dismantling of equipment using hand and power tools
• Supporting machinery upgrades, installations, rectification works and modifications
• Assisting with plant improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Completing maintenance documentation, work orders and maintenance records accurately
• Working collaboratively with team members and other departments
• Supporting the Plant Engineer in day-to-day operations and plant improvement projects
• Working overtime when required
What You'll Bring
• Trade qualified Maintenance Fitter / Mechanical Fitter
• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding ability
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Basic knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems (MMS)
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and initiative
• Strong attention to detail
• A proactive, open-minded and positive attitude
• Willingness to commit to long-term employment
• Availability for overtime when required
• Reliable transport and driver's licence
Desirable Attributes
• Experience with pneumatic systems
• Exposure to PLC-controlled machinery would be advantageous
• Forklift Licence
• Confined Space Certificate
• General machining and workshop experience
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Previous experience in a continuous manufacturing environment
