About the business and the role

Marland Mushrooms QLD is a leading mushroom producer supplying major supermarkets from our purpose-built facility in Stapylton.

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Electrician to join our team in a full-time permanent position.

Days of work: Thursday - Sunday. 10am starts (approx) - 9pm finish (approx)

This role is critical to ensuring the ongoing performance and reliability of our mushroom compost filling machines and associated equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment to ensure production runs efficiently with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on mushroom compost filling machines and associated site equipment

  • Ensure filling equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and consistently

  • Perform preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and production interruptions

  • Respond promptly to equipment faults and breakdowns to minimise downtime

  • Work closely with the Production Manager to support daily operations and production targets

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across equipment and processes

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety standards

About You:

  • Qualified Electrician

  • Strong experience in maintenance within a production, manufacturing, or industrial environment

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical faults

  • Proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with production teams

Skills and experience

  •  Electrical Trade qualification essential

  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in a similar role in a food manufacturing environment (preferred) 

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing HACCP and GMP standards.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Experience in the food industry an advantage.
