Qualified Massage Therapist (Remedial Massage Therapist / Myotherapist)

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Massage Therapist to join our growing team at our Ashmore clinic on the Gold Coast.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Massage Therapist is responsible for assessing clients, developing treatment plans and delivering therapeutic massage treatments to support recovery, reduce pain and improve overall wellbeing. 

The role is based at the Fix My Muscles clinic in Ashmore and works as part of a collaborative team of practitioners focused on helping clients achieve long-term results and become pain-free.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct thorough initial consultations and assessments, including assessing
• posture, joints and muscle function
• Develop and deliver tailored treatment plans for musculoskeletal dysfunction and soft tissue conditions
• Apply remedial massage techniques and manipulate soft tissues to support recovery, reduce pain and improve mobility
• Provide remedial massage therapy for muscle pain, flexibility issues, sports injuries and rehabilitation
• Maintain accurate client records and document progress
• Educate clients on stretching, strengthening and self-release techniques
• Ensure a clean, safe and comfortable therapy environment
• Stay up to date with current techniques and best practice
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed
• Protect client confidentiality and uphold professional and ethical standards

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT52015) or equivalent, or higher
• Qualification must be recognised in Australia
• Current membership with a recognised professional association
• Valid provider number for health fund rebates
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance
• Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology and biomechanics
• Proven experience in remedial massage therapy
• Proficient spoken and written English and excellent client communication skills

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Advanced training in:

• Myofascial Release
• Trigger Point Therapy
• Sports Massage
• Experience with clinical management software
• Experience in client education and exercise prescription
• Strong background in treating sports-related injuries
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a loyal client base
• Strong problem-solving and clinical reasoning skills
• Dry needling and cupping certificates (highly regarded but not essential)
