We are a busy well-established Sushi Train restaurant located on the Gold Coast, offering fresh, high-quality

Japanese cuisine in a welcoming and customer-focused environment. We are seeking an experienced and

reliable Cook to join our kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Examine food ingredients and prepared food items to ensure quality and freshness

  2. Prepare, season and cook menu items including sushi components, hot food dishes and side items

  3. Portion food, plate dishes and ensure consistent presentation standards

  4. Store food safely in temperature-controlled facilities in accordance with food safety standards

  5. Prepare food to meet dietary requirements where required

  6. Assist with stock control, food preparation planning and estimating food requirements

  7. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and food preparation areas

  8. Assist in training and supporting junior kitchen staff where required

Skills and Experience Required:

  1. Relevant qualification (Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or similar) or equivalent industry

    experience

  2. Experience working in a commercial kitchen restaurant (Japanese cuisine or Sushi & Sashimi experience

    highly regarded)

  3. Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards

  4. Ability to work efficiently in a high-service kitchen environment

  5. Strong attention to detail and consistency in food preparation and quality assurance
