The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Information Security Officer to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
Support the management of day-to-day operations of the Information Security and Assurance service
Facilitate the development and ongoing monitoring of the Information Security Management System
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of information and cyber security policies
Engage with internal stakeholders to raise awareness of security risks
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
While not mandatory, the following would be well regarded:
Relevant tertiary qualification and/or recognised industry certifications in Information Security, Risk Management, Information Management, Cyber Security, ISMS, or a related field
Recognised entry-level industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, SSCP, or similar
Experience in managing information security, compliance, or risk management programs within a complex environment, preferably healthcare or government
Sound knowledge of relevant frameworks and standards, including ISO27001 and Essential 8
Demonstrated experience in operational IT or information security roles
Excellent communication skills for engaging with internal teams and external stakeholders
Position is on-site and not suitable for remote working
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)
