We are partnering with a highly respected, rapidly growing, family-owned civil contractor specialising in Soil Stabilisation, Road Construction, and Cold Recycling. Boasting a rock-solid reputation for quality and an enviable pipeline of upcoming infrastructure projects, they are seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to join their leadership team.
This isn’t just a job; it’s an autonomous, high-impact career move that will evolve into an Operations Manager position. Working hand-in-hand with the Managing Director, you will have the freedom to hunt for new commercial opportunities, spearhead the tender process, and oversee projects from initial handshake to final completion.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a pivotal link between business development and project delivery, your days will be diverse, fast-paced, and highly rewarding:
Identifying and developing new business opportunities, markets, and partnerships
Generating leads and conducting outreach to prospective clients
Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Preparing proposals, presentations, and business pitches
Attending industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
Monitoring sales activity and reporting against KPIs
Negotiating with stakeholders and prospective clients
Researching market trends and potential revenue streams
Supporting long-term business growth initiatives
What You’ll Bring
To hit the ground running in this autonomous role, you will need a strong commercial mindset and a solid grounding in the civil sector:
Previous experience in business development, sales, or account management
Civil construction background with exposure to civil machinery
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Proven ability to generate new business opportunities
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
Valid driver's licence
