About the Role
Lucent Globe is looking for a curious, detail-oriented Product Development Assistant to support our growing R&D and product pipeline. This role sits at the intersection of formulation, quality, and consumer claims, helping us bring new eco-friendly cleaning products to market with confidence and rigour.
You'll work closely with the Head of R&D across our detergent sheet formats, supporting everything from early-stage testing through to final claims validation and launch readiness.
Product Testing & Development
Run and coordinate product tests across our laundry and dishwashing sheet range, including how well they clean, how quickly they dissolve, and how they hold up in different conditions
Help identify why a product is performing a certain way, and put together straightforward tests to find answers
Keep clear, organised records of all test protocols, batches, and results
Compare our products against competitors and track changes across formula versions
Quality Control
Carry out QC checks on incoming materials and finished products, covering things like sheet weight, dissolution, visual appearance, and packaging
Keep QC records up to date, including standard procedures, any issues that arise, and supplier quality notes
Work with our manufacturing partners and warehouse teams to flag and follow up on quality concerns
Claims Validation
Help build the evidence behind our product claims, such as "effective in cold water" or "100% plastic-free"
Coordinate with external testing labs, including sending samples, tracking results, and keeping records organised
Review how claims are worded and check that they line up with our test data
Cross-Functional Support
Keep the product development tracker up to date and make sure the right people are informed on progress and timelines
Help prepare for new product launches by coordinating across operations, marketing, and supply chain
Research regulatory requirements for Australia and the US, including ingredient rules, labelling, and eco certifications
Who You Are
Background in chemistry, food science, cosmetic science, consumer goods, or a related field is a bonus
Strong attention to detail
Strong written communication skills; able to document processes and findings clearly
Comfortable working across spreadsheets, shared drives, and project tracking tools
Curious about sustainability and consumer products
