About the Role

As Operations/General Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations and lead a team of 5 direct reports and 30 site contractors/staff. This role bridges management and site execution—ensuring labour, materials, subcontractors, and clients are coordinated effectively.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing site supervisors and staff – Including training on waterproofing systems

  • Overseeing compliance with Industry and Australian Standards, WHS, and manufacturer specifications

  • Driving project profitability, cost control, and job performance

  • Maintaining client and stakeholder relationships with professionalism

  • Conducting toolbox talks, site inspections, and safety audits

  • Reporting on KPIs, budgets, and operational performance to senior management

This role requires a strong operational focus, but also the ability to look at the big picture—improving systems, supporting your team, and driving performance.

About You

You’re a capable and confident leader with strong organisational and problem-solving skills. You know how to balance the commercial, operational, and human aspects of running multiple projects at once.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in an operations or project management role within construction

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing direct staff and contractors

  • A proven ability to oversee budgets, resources, and project profitability

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • A commitment to WHS and building a culture of safety and accountability

  • A proactive mindset with the ability to think strategically and drive continuous improvement
